News from the Unscripted SelfOur truest life is when we are in dreams awake, Henry David Thoreau
Spring opens its eyes. Long dark winter is at an end.
Last time we talked about the one and the many. You are both the one and the many, the so-called scattered souls that appear separate, and the One that holds them all together. Keep this thought in your heart at all times.
How do you talk to yourself? We all have inner talk or self dialogue, the content and variation of which we are largely unaware. This usually reflects the way people talked to you as a child.Unless you practice some form of mindfulness on a regular basis (which will make you more aware of what your inner talk is actually saying to you!) then it is likely that what you are doing is reproducing the very words people said (usually depreciating and unhelpful) when you were growing up. Practicing any kind of Mindfulness will help with this. So, the next time you find yourself doing this ask yourself these questions: Would I speak to a tiny infant in that manner? Would I scold them and berate them for every little thing and find fault at every turn? The answer of course is No. I know you are a much more loving and compassionate person.
Yet we do it to ourselves all the time. Why is that?
No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted, Aesop.
BE KIND TO YOURSELF WITH A LITTLE TREAT!
Inner Child ExerciseClose your eyes and picture a small child standing in front of you. This is you as an infant.Pick up that child and shower it with love and kisses. Tell it everything is alright and that it’s not their fault about all the nonsense they’re being blamed for. Just as the child is innocent so are you, and all the things you tricked yourself into feeling guilty about are only illusions. You are that inner child. You are all the children everywhere in the world. And you are also the Universal Love loving the child.
Distant HealingPlease send lots of healing and prayers for those in Vanuatu affected by Cyclone Pam, especially those who have lost loved ones or are feeling frightened and alone.

I will be doing my annual harbour to harbour walk here in Dublin, from Dun Laoghaire to Howth village (about 25 km). The walk is in aid of Aware who do outstanding work for people suffering from mental illness and depression It is always very well attended and people have great fun on it. If you see me en route give me a high five!

"To do our part in the evolution of the human race we have to start with ourselves, observe our behavior in our relationships, avoid isolation, division and conflict...realize that we individually are the world." Krishnamurti. That's all folks
